Betty Kelly-Kenning Aquatic Centre: The Bahamas’ Premier Aquatics Facility

Located in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre in Nassau, The Bahamas, the Betty Kelly-Kenning Aquatic Centre is the leading destination for aquatic excellence in the region. Whether you’re a competitive swimmer, a fitness enthusiast, or simply enjoy water-based recreation, our world-class facility is built to inspire, train, and entertain.

The Aquatic Centre was named in honor of Betty Kelly-Kenning, a Bahamian pioneer who devoted much of her life to the development of swimming in The Bahamas. Since its official opening, the Centre has grown into a hub for local and international aquatic events, training camps, and community programs.

Our venue is designed to meet international standards and cater to swimmers of all levels:

  • Olympic-size 50-meter swimming pool (10 lanes, FINA certified)

  • 25-meter warm-up/training pool

  • Diving well with springboards and platforms

  • Modern locker rooms and showers

  • Grandstand seating for 400 spectators, with capacity to accommodate up to 800 using additional seating

  • On-site timing and scoreboard systems

  • Training rooms and coaching facilities

Whether you’re hosting a swim meet, practicing with your club, or introducing your child to the water, the Betty Kelly-Kenning Aquatic Centre offers a safe, clean, and professional environment for all.

The Centre serves as the official home of the Bahamas Swimming Federation and is the training ground for many of the nation’s top athletes. From national record holders to Olympic hopefuls, the pool has seen countless personal bests and historic wins.

It is also the venue for major competitions such as

  • The Bahamas National Swimming Championships

  • CARIFTA Swimming Championships

  • Local club meets and invitational events

  • Water polo tournaments and diving exhibitions

Beyond competition, the Centre plays an essential role in the community:
